Can I Get a Spray Tan with a Sunburn?

We do not recommend spray tanning over a sunburn—and here’s why:

Peeling skin causes the tan to flake off unevenly

Irritated or damaged skin can become more sensitive or inflamed

Color may appear blotchy or patchy as your skin heals and shedsIf you have a sunburn, it’s best to wait until your skin is fully healed and no longer peeling.

Why You Shouldn't Wear Lotion, Deodorant, or Makeup
Your skin must be clean, dry, and product-free before your spray tan. Here’s why:

Lotion can create a barrier that blocks the tanning solution from fully absorbing

Deodorant may react with the solution and turn greenish or cause uneven color under the arms

Makeup can prevent even coverage on the face

Oils, perfumes, and body sprays can interfere with the development of your tan
Pro Tip: Shower the day of your appointment using a gentle, non-oily cleanser and skip all moisturizers, perfumes, and deodorants until after your tan has developed and your first rinse is complete.
What To Expect:
Before Your Tan:
Exfoliate 24 hours before
Avoid lotions, deodorants, or oils the day of
Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment
During Your Tan:
We’ll walk you through every step
Choose your shade and finish (light, medium, dark; matte or dewy)
Application takes 10–15 minutes
After Your Tan:
Rapid: Wait 2+ hours before first rinse
Standard: Wait 8+ hours before first rinse
Moisturize daily to extend your tan
Avoid sweating or water exposure during development time
